Lubricants without chlorinated paraffins
CONDAT works on a daily basis to improve its range of lubricants and to develop products that are safer for operators and for the environment. For stainless steel (spring wire, wire for cold heading, blank and coil for stamping), CONDAT offers a range of products without short- and medium-chain chlorinated paraffins from its European site.
Chlorinated oils are commonly used in metal forming operations with heavy constraints. The chlorinated paraffins they contain are more or less dangerous according to the length of their carbon chain. Chlorinated paraffins with short chains are forbidden and those with medium chains contribute to the classification of industrial sites (under the European Seveso directive, for example) because of their danger for the environment.
CONDAT has reformulated its range of drawing oils and greases so that they are not classified as hazardous and labelled according to the GHS regulation. CONDAT products can be used in a reliable way by operators, with minimum impact on the environment. They do not contribute to the Seveso classification of our customers’ sites and also allow savings in waste disposal and site equipment.
The use of this alternative chemistry has also allowed the replacement of chlorine for cold-heading and stamping activities, with lubricants of comparable or even superior performance.
